Problems of Raising

Problems concerning raising of a Sennenhund mostly result from incorrect feeding. Food should all the time be given in relatively small portions. Obesity in dogs significantly affects heart and circulation of blood. It may happen that ligaments and joints of a young dog that are weak yet are exposed to excessive loadings. This results in poor "moving mechanism", hind legs first of all. If a young Berner gets a well-balanced feeding it should be given an opportunity for a daily locomotion, within reasonable limits, of cause. There's no doubt that during the first year live one should refrain his dog from "forced marches" that last for several hours. If any difficulties appear you may turn to your dog breeder or a veterinary surgeon.
