Regularly examine the genitals of both male and female. There should not be any suspicious excreta. If there are any, especially of white color, these may be a result of the early stage of a urological disease. One must at once consult with a vet.
One should also control the state of anal glands. If inflamed or congested the gland ducts may increase in size.
Here are symptoms of congestion of anal glands: there is an excretion of pus or a brown liquid out of anus. At pressing with two fingers on the anus area bottom-up, pus or a brown liquid is discharged out; the dog "fidgets about on his rump" as if wiping it.
Inflammation of anal glands must be treated, otherwise a fistula may appear and surgical operation will be necessary.
