Young and inexperienced

"I have four cats, the youngest one, a year and a half Siamese cat gave birth to five kittens. A week after that the friend of mine give me two-month tortoiseshell kitten. Siamese cat takes an instant dislike to kitten and use any convenient case to rush on him, showing her claws, and without my interference she could tear to pieces the little one. I afraid that it ends badly, but I cannot renounce from one of these cats. I hadn't such problem with senior cats, they avoided the newcomer for couple a weeks and then all were settled down. The tortoiseshell kitten (with perfect character) was wonderfully accepted by senior cats. But what should I do with Siamese? Her kittens had grown up (3 month) and are able to leave the room where they were on quarantine and make an awful mess."

- You get in serious and complicated situation. Mother's aggressiveness and reflex of guarding children - are well-known cat's features, but I don't think that Siamese are more aggressive in this case. Usually this aggressiveness is limited in space, is very much located. It spreads only to small territory around the busket with kittens or around kittens. In this case, to my mind, was a mistake to isolate the cat with kittens in a separate room, thus forcing her to protect kittens on such a large territory. Your other mistake, from my point of view, was to take your tortoise Sara in the house at such a young age. In 9 weeks she is afraid of nothing and does not know the cat's code, the adult cats perfectly understand notifying Siamese's signals and behave properly without calling her aggressiveness. New one, on the contrary, doesn't understand these signals. The right solution is to give Sara for some time to friendly family, at least for a month. For this time the tension will disappear, the cat - mother will calm down. Then you will take Sara back, and you will have a classical situation: there is a new adult cat in the house, it will be a small tension for two weeks, and then harmony will be settled. Each cat will find the place in the house, as you have it before.
